Police are probing the "suspicious" death of a missing 16-year-old girl found Sunday morning on a trail in St. Clair County, about 60 miles north of Detroit.
Leah Conner of Avoca in that county went for a walk at about 11:20 a.m. Saturday, and was reported missing about five hours later, the Michigan State Police said in press release.
A police dog helped find her at the Trestle Bridge on the Wadhams-to-Avoca Trail.
Michigan State Police Lt. Liz Rich tells the Detroit Free Press the death was being treated as suspicious, but indicated there was no threat to the public. An autopsy is being conducted.
