Mary Wilson, one of the original Supremes, who grew up in Detroit's Brewster-Douglass Housing Project, will be buried Tuesday in Los Angeles in a private ceremony, her family tells the Detroit Free Press.

Wilson, 76, was one of many recently-passed artists honored Sunday night at the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Wilson will be buried next to her son Rafael (Rafi) Ferrer, killed in an auto accident as a teenager in 1994, Brian McCollum of the paper writes.

"Mary was always very conscientious about the Covid guidelines, so keeping with her wishes, the family will have a celebration to honor Mary’s life and legacy later this year with her friends, family and fans when we are all able to come together in person," the family said in a statement to the Freep.

She died Feb. 8 at home in Las Vegas of hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

She was born in 1944 in Greenville, Miss., ant came to Detroit at the age of three.

A public celebration is expected to be held later this year.
