History lives on through this home once occupied by Henry "Hank the Deuce" Ford, the former CEO and chairman of the board of Ford Motor Company.

The eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom Georgian colonial at 300 Provencal in Grosse Pointe Farms is on the market for $2.9 million. It's the creation of architect John Russell Pope, who designed the Jefferson Memorial in Washington.

It's described this way on Realtor.com:

Sitting on almost 1.5 acres and over looking the Country Club of Detroit golf course, this handsome estate is the epitome of sophistication with a classic marbled vestibule, incredible 11-foot grand entrance with extensive millwork and a gracious sweeping staircase complete with Romeo and Juliet balcony.

We first saw the listing in the Detroit Free Press.
