NFL's newly out player, Carl Nassib, is Michigan Justice McCormack's cousin

Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Bridget McCormack tweeted support Friday for Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib, who recently came out as gay. But it came with a twist: Nassib is the justice's cousin. 

Nassib is the first active NFL player to publicly identify as gay. His connection to McCormack is only one of several notable family members in the family tree.

The Free Press reports:

In April, she congratulated her brother, Will McCormack, for winning an Oscar for his work co-directing the animated short winner, "If Anything Happens I Love You," about the aftermath of a school shooting.

And her sister, Mary McCormack, portrayed deputy national security adviser Kate Harper for three seasons on NBC's Emmy Award-winning political drama, "West Wing."
