Video: Detroit Councilman-Elect Young Teases Ambitious Plans, Including Hotels for the Homeless

Detroit City Councilman-elect Coleman A. Young II has some ambitious ideas for the city, including retrofitting abandoned hotels for the homeless, guaranteeing income for the very poor and sending mental health experts instead of police to diffuse family emergencies.

"If your child is having a mental health episode, I don't think a gun-toter should show up for that," says Young, the son of the late Detroit Mayor Coleman A. Young.
