Michigan Records 15,385 New Covid Cases and 351 Deaths Over Two Days

Michigan's daily Covid cases continue to fluctuate, but remain high.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported a total of 15,385 cases for Tuesday and Wednesday, for a daily average of 7,692. The state recorded 351 deaths in the two-day stretch, with 185 identified during vital records reviews. In the past few weeks, the state has reported more than 9,000 cases in a day. 

The state has added 31,975 new cases and 478 deaths so far this week.

The Detroit News reports:

The CDC projects Michigan's weekly tally could reach as high as 1,000 deaths, but will likely remain at around 500-600 deaths each week of January.

Michigan has tallied 1,368,541 cases and 24,845 deaths since March 2020. 

On the upside, 1,126,184 people with Covid are classified as having recovered, the state reports.
