Buckle up, it's going to be a snowy Monday in Metro Detroit

Freak out, if you must, but don't call Monday's predicted snowfall a freak storrm.

"Accumulating snow past mid-April is relatively uncommon, but not unheard of in Southeast Michigan," the National Weather Service office in Oakland County tweets Sunday night. "In fact, Detroit received over 3 inches of snow this week in both 2021 and 2020."

This time, federal forecasters say, "high snowfall rates are likely to lead to snow accumulations that may impact the evening commute Monday." It's expected to start in the morning and taper off by nightfall.
