We're all about multiculturalism and letting everybody salute just-married pals their own way, but squealing tires and burning rubber seem excessive and rude on a residential block.
Dearborn cops agree.
"There is zero tolerance for this behavior in our community," the suburb's police force posts on social media with a one-minute doorbell camera video of noisy, smelly street exuberance last weekend. "There are more appropriate, and safer, ways to celebrate.
"Several residents notified the Dearborn Police Department of hazardous driving on a residential street in the area of Bingham and Warren" on May 7, it says in a news release.
Guests of a wedding taking place used the residential streets to drive dangerously, performing "burn-outs" -- which create excessive noise, large clouds of smoke and damage to the freshly paved streets, in addition to blocking local traffic. ...
Detectives have identified several individuals involved in last Saturday's incident, but they are asking for the public's assistance to identify others involved. If you have any tips or information, please contact the Dearborn Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (313) 943-3345.

The video exceeds 5,500 viewings in under two days. The release quotes Chief Issa Shahin:
"Weddings are a time of celebration and festivity for new couples in our community and beyond. However, we need to ensure that both guests and residents are protected by following the law and celebrating safely in order to prevent harm or tragedy.
"Reckless driving is illegal. ... Celebrate special occasions without endangering others."
