Pine Knob lists 21 types of forbidden items, including beach balls, snacks, long-lens cameras

The former DTE Energy Music Theatre is named Pine Knob again, though summer concertgoers may think it should be called Pine Not.

Welcome . . . sort of. (Photo: Facebook)

The list of don't-bring items is exhaustive and just a starting point for open-ended prohibitions that cover "any other item deemed unsafe by venue personnel."

It's not prison-level strictness, though overlaps exist. The suburban amphitheatre naturally bans "weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, pepper spray and mace), toy or fake weapons, alcohol or illegal substances."

Ticketholders caught trying to bring a water bottle, snacks or "professional camera" also must return that contraband to their vehicles.

In all, 21 categories of not-allowed items are forbidden by 313 Presents, the venue's production and promotion partner, "in the interest of our guests' safety." A sampling of what's banned to spare you a walk of shame back to the lot this outdoor music season:

  • Purse, clutch, backpack
  • Liquid container
  • Laptop, tablet, iPad, GoPro
  • Camera with detachable lens
  • Drone ("Violations of this policy will result in possible arrest and/or confiscation.")
  • Selfie stick
  • Noisemaker
  • Inflatable
  • Umbrella with pointed tip
  • Camping chair
  • Laser pointer

However, rest easy if you rock out with an infant of toddler: A diaper bag and breast pump are OK, as are other small medical device satchels. But teething crackers and formula bottles theoretically could be verboten along with "outside food or beverage of any kind."

But hey, enjoy the show . . . if the buzz isn't already crushed.
