A Free Press column titled "Facebook posts show Whitmer kidnap plot leader's mom didn't know best" starts off strong:
The only time I spoke with Adam Fox's mother Christina Badgero was on Oct. 15, 2020, the night before a hearing in federal court to determine whether her son would be set free on bond. As she stood in the doorway near a wooden sign with "Fox's" burned into it, she told me I had the wrong house.
Posts highlighted by author ML Elrick suggest the alleged kidnap plotter didn't fall too far from the tree. Below is a sampling of Badgero's online antics around the time of her son's arrest. The posts have reportedly since been deleted or hidden.
On Nov. 15, 2020, a month after Fox's bond hearing, Badgero reposted a doctored cover of a Dr. Seuss book with a photo of Whitmer under the title "How the Gretch Stole Christmas!" Badgero added the comment: "And an election."
That same day, she reposted a meme from the Donald Trump for President Facebook account with photos of two top FBI officials and Hillary Clinton sandwiched between the lines "When corrupt politicians start going to prison, We can start trusting our government again" above the exclamation: "Amen to that!"
Three days later, on Nov. 18, 2020, Badgero posted: "This woman deserves impeachment as well as to be tried for the COVID deaths of 2k nursing home and assisted living residents. She'll rock that orange jumpsuit and shackles. #LuckHerUp" The post included a link to a Fox News story about the potential for impeachment charges to be filed against Whitmer.
(There were) other provocative posts from early January 2021, including one that said "#StopTheSteal" and another in which she wrote "#StandUpForKyle" above a link to a Fox News story about Kyle Rittenhouse pleading not guilty to shooting protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
