Supino Pizzeria, a fixture in Eastern Market and one of the more popular pizza joints in the city, said it hopes to reopen by year's end. It has been closed since late April when it suffered water damage from a fire in an apartment upstairs, above the shop.
Owner Dave Mancini tells Deadline Detroit that he's still waiting on insurance money to repair damages.
"Reopening 100% just not sure when," he wrote Tuesday in a text.
Supino opened in the market in 2008 to rave reviews. It eventually expanded to the building next door.
Supino has a second location on Woodward, near W. Grand Blvd., in Detroit's New Center area.
