Update: Cameron Sutton No Longer Wanted by the Lions, But Still Wanted By the Law

Update: 4:16 p.m., Thursday: Detroit Lions posted on X that they've released Cam Sutton.

Sutton is a fugitive. An arrest warrant has been issued in Florida on allegations of domestic assault.

Detroit Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton is a fugitve from justice.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa, Fla.,  announced Wednesday that an arrest warrant has been issued for Sutton for alleged domestic battery by strangulation, ESPN reports, noting that police have been unable to locate him for weeks.  

Sutton, 29, has not responded to multiple attempts by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department to contact him. 

Police were first contacted March 7 regarding an alleged domestic incident involving a woman at a home in Lutz, Fla. 

The Detroit Lions issued a statement:

"We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning. We will continue to monitor the situation and will not have further comment at this time."

Sutton played for the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Lions in 2023.
