Don't cry for Mary Barra, or start a GoFundMe page to help her, even if she did see her compensation drop in 2023. She's going to be OK. Really.

The General Motors chair and CEO  saw her compensation drop 4 percent last year compared with 2022 after the auto giant failed to hit its shareholder value targets. That goal is linked to her her compensation, the Detroit Free Press reports, noting:

It means that for the first time in three years, Barra is no longer the highest-paid CEO of the Detroit Three automakers. That title goes to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

GM reports that that Barra'ss total compensation in 2023 was $27,847,405 million compared to $28,979,570 in 2022.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares had a total compensation of $39.5 million in 2023 and Ford's Jim Farley received $26,470,033.
