Earlier Thursday Night

He wasn't the first quarterback to be picked in Thursday's NFL Draft. But he was certainly the one Michiganders were paying closest attention to.

For the #10 pick, the Minnesota Vikings picked University of Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Shortly after the pick, Mike "Stoney" Stone remarked on 97.1 The Ticket that McCarthy will be a good quarterback in the NFL, not a great one.

Michigan fans will undoubtedly have mixed feelings about that comment. Many will want to see him do well.

On the other hand, the Detroit Lions' division, the NFC North, will be a tough one and local fans will certainly root against McCarthy when he plays their team.
