Turner was weathercaster for WJBK in Detroit in 1957, and later went on to host popular talk shows with husband John Kelly on  WXYZ.

She died in March at age 93.

A native of Ontario, she began her career as a commercial spokeswoman and went on in 1957 to be a weathercaster,  and by 1961 became known as “Miss Fairweather”,” on WJBK-TV, according to a bio on the Detroit Historical Society website.

Turner deliverered weather reports on the weekends while developing her modeling career during the week, the site said. In 1973, she became a fulltime weathercaster on WXYZ.

Turner and former WJBK-TV newscaster John Kelly, who had moved to WXYZ-TV one year earlier, struck up a relationship and married in December 1974.

Over the next two decades, she and Kelly hosted the popular talk show on WXYZ, "Kelly and Company," which ran from the mid-1970s until 1995. Another show they co-hosted,"Good Afternoon Detroit," lasted four years.

Kelly died in 2016 at age 88.
