Detroit Father Charged After Son, 6, Shoots Himself With Unsecured Gun

Morris Stephen Brown, 34, of Detroit, faces felony gun charges after his son, 6, shot and wounded himself  in the thurmb with an unsecured handgun in the home.

The incident happened on May 22, around  4:35 p.m., in the 3100 block of Ethel Street in Detroit.

Brown faces firearms charges including safe storage violations, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony firearm.

A probable cause conference is set for June 27, followed by a preliminary examination on July 2.
