Carlos Parisi, the co-host of Deadline Detroit's former food show, "Detroit Digest," picks his top 10 most craveable sandwiches in Metro Detroit in a posting on WDIV's website.

Pariis knows his food. Besides being a food critic, he owns Aunt Nee’s, a local tortilla chip company that also sells guacamole and salsas. He's also planning a sandwich festival at Eastern Market on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Here's his list:

Capri Italian Bakery, 4832 Greenfield Rd, Dearborn: Meatball sandwich.

Ventimiglia’s Italian Food, 35197 Dodge Park Rd, Sterling Heights: The turkey, add prosciutto.

Mitsos Greek Food and Coffee, 2614 Riopelle St Unit 4, Detroit: The breakfast sandwiches.

Puma Detroit, 4725 16th St, Detroit: The Chorpian.

Mike’s Famous Ham Place, 3700 Michigan Ave, Detroit: The ham sandwich.

Hamido in East Dearborn and Deaborn Heights: The mixed shawarma sandwich (meat and chicken).

New Saigon Market, 30573 John R Rd., Madison Heights: Banh Mi.

Mudgie’s Deli and Wine Shop, 1413 Brooklyn St, Detroit: Jerk, shawarma-style sandwich (off the menu item).

The Original Gonella’s, 295 Oakwood, Detroit: Gonella's special.

Matt and Mo’s Italian Beef,  24110 John R Rd,  Hazel Park: Hot beef sandwich
