Gov. Tim Walz and Sen. JD Vance

A Michigan poll by EPIC-MRA of Lansing for the Detroit Free Press and its media partners shows the selection of Gov. Tim Walz for vice president has been more favorable to Kamala Harris than Sen. J.D. Vance has been for Donald Trump.

The poll shows, according to the Freep:

►28 percent said Harris' selection of Walz made them more likely to vote for her, compared with 15 percent who said it made them less likely to do so and 55 percent who said it had no influence.

►14 percent said Trump's selection of Vance made them more likely to back Trump, 19 percent said it made their backing of him less likely and 65 percent said it had not bearing.

The poll also shows, the Freep reports:

►in a four-way race, Trump was in a virtual tie with Harris overall in Michigan, 46-45 percent, trailed by Natural Law Party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (who has suspended his campaign but was still expected to appear on the ballot) at 3%, Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 1% and 5% undecided.
