Stephen Curry
Former Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, a basketball Hall of Famer, has some strong opinions about the NBA.
He tells ESPN that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is the best shooter in NBA history.
"He is absolutely the best shooter that has played the game," Bing tells ESPN's Michael Rothstein. "Nobody's close, except his teammate."
Rothstein writes:
Curry's teammate, of course, is Klay Thompson. But Bing gave Curry the nod over Thompson because of everything else he does. Bing cited Curry's ability to create shots on his own and create open space as some of the reasons he would give the nod to the reigning NBA MVP as the greatest shooter of all time. The only other player Bing could think of that would be in the conversation is Larry Bird.
Still, Bing says he's rooting for Cleveland to win the championship because team owner, Dan Gilbert is from Michigan and has done so much for Detroit.
Interestingly, there are some in Metro Detroit rooting against Cleveland because of Gilbert.
Golden State leads the series 2-0.
