It wouldn't really matter if the food at Coriander Kitchen & Farm was any good. The charming canal location in the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood on Detroit's far east side is reason enough to go.

That said, the food is very, very tasty, as Detroit Digest host Carlos Parisi says in Deadline Detroit's latest show. He samples the fried fish sandwich, the burger, grilled Greek cheese sticks wrapped in grape leaves, fried smelt and smoked fish dip.

Owners Gwen Meyer and Alison Heeres opened the deck dining last summer and cooked out of a food truck as they remodeled the former Fisherman’s Marina. In March, they reopened on the deck and plan indoor dining at some point. (It's closed Memorial Day weekend.)
