Most people infected with Covid in Michigan simply suffer from cold symptoms, possibly with a mild fever and sore throat. But some still are dying.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports Tuesday that 174 people died over the past week, bringing total deaths since March 2020 to 36,918.

The state also reported 14,353 new infections during that last seven days stretch, for a daily average of 2,050.

It may be tougher for the state to accurately monitor news cases considering that many people use home tests and don't report positive results.
