Al Roker behind the counter at American Coney Island
Al Roker came to Detroit in June and did live shots for the Today show. Then he did some filming on Coney Islands for his show "Family Style with Al Roker." On Wednesday, his coney show debuted on livestream.
Roker talks about the history of the Detroit hot dogs, and spends time with Coney Queen Grace Keros at American Coney Island on Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Detroit. He also visits the Metropolitan Baking Co. in Hamtramck which supplies scores of coneys with hot dog buns, and Chili Mustard Onions, a vegan coney on Brush Street in Detroit.
