A 40-year-old man from suburban Flint faces charges of stalking Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and her wife, Plymouth City Commissioner Alanna Maguire, at their home in Plymouth.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office charged Christopher Dean Baldwin, 40, of Flushing with two misdemeanor counts of stalking.

On Tuesday around 8:35 a.m., Plymouth police officers responded to a call about a man, who rang the doorbell at Nessel's home before sitting on the front porch. Police arrested him.

Authorities allege that Baldwin had previously attempted to contact Nessel.

Additionally, on Monday, Baldwin came to a Plymouth commission meeting in which City Commissioner Alanna Maguire was in attendance.

He was arraigned Thursday in Plymouth's 35th District Court before Judge Michael Gerou, who set a bond of $100,000/10 percent with a GPStether.

A pre-trial hearing is set for March 15 at 9:00 a.m.

“The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office will always take any and all threats against public officials very seriously," said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy in a statement. "This simply will not be tolerated. Unfortunately, in today’s climate threats to elected and other officials have become normalized. Not by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, ever,” said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
