Michigan Lawmaker Mallory McMorrow: RFK Jr. 'Is Donald Trump With a Kennedy Name Slapped on Him'

The Democratic Party, concerned about presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. being a spoiler in the November election, tried Tuesday to discredit him.

The Democratic National Committee held a press call that included elected officials like Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow, who said RFK Jr. “is Donald Trump with a Kennedy name slapped on him.”

“There is absolutely no path for Kennedy to become president — and he knows that, that is why he picked a VP ... who can buy his way onto the ballot in a number of states," she said, according to CNN. 

Kennedy on Tuesday announced his vice presidential running mate, Nicole Shanahan, 38. She is a Democratic donor, political novice, lawyer and tech entrepreneur who has focused on health and environmental research. She was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

McMorrow warned that Kennedy and Shanahan are both vaccine skeptics whose views could pose a danger to Americans. 

The Wall Street Journal reports that while Democrats are worried that RFK Jr. could hurt Biden in November, some polls have shown Kennedy siphoning more votes from Trump.
