A man was seriously wounded and hospitalized Monday morning on Belle Isle after being shot by the Wayne County Sheriff's tether unit during an attempted arrest, Michigan State Police said on social media.
The incident happened around 10:40 a.m. Monday. The man was wanted for absconding.
Few other details were immediately available.
The Michigan State Police Special Investigation Section is investigating the incident.
