The Temple Bar, a dive joint in Detroit's Cass Corridor that was getting ready for the Movement electronic festival this weekend, had to close until further notice after a part of the front facade came crashing down on the sidewalk Friday morning, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The building at  2906 Cass Ave., near Little Caesars Arena, was reportedly empty at the time and sustained no damage inside.

"This place is a staple for the community, it's been a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community and it's unfortunate that we have to shut down for the time being,"  bar manager Larry Love tells the Freep.

He said it was particularly unfortunate that it happened during the festival weekend.

"It's one of the weekends that we look forward to every year, it's a good-money making weekend," Love said.

The block was cordoned off for traffic on Saturday, even after the debris in front had been cleared away.
