Video: WDIV's Rod Meloni Talks About His Buyout and Career and People in the Business He Most Admires

WDIV's Rod Meloni, who has been at the station for nearly 30 years, is taking a buyout, effective July 1, along with some other on-air talent including Bernie Smilovitz, Mara MacDonald and Paula Tutman.

The New England native, 65,  talked with Deadline Detroit's Allan Lengel Tuesday night about his humble beginnings in the industry, why Detroit was such a great news town, his love for the city, getting greeted by strangers who recognized him, his career here, the future of TV news, current and former people in the business he most admires and what's next in life.
