Poll: 79% of Black Michigan Voters flatly disagree that Trump's Criminal Indictments Increased Their support for Him

Despite his claims to the contrary, a USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll found that 79 percent of Black Michigan voters flatly disagree that Donald Trump's criminal indictments have increased their support for him because they empathize with him being persecuted and discriminated against, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The poll of 500 randomly selected voters, taken between June 9-13, found only 15 percent agreed with Trump, and 6 percent had no opinion.

Of that pool of voters, 55 percent said they found Trump's statement offensive compared to 41 percent who did not.

"That is a laughable and derogatory and highly insulting statement by convicted felon former President Trump," said Lucell Trammer, 43, of West Bloomfield, according to the Freep.

In Febuary, in South Carolina, Trump told a group of Black conservatives:

“I got indicted for nothing, for something that is nothing.And a lot of people said that’s why the Black people like me, because they have been hurt so badly and discriminated against, and they actually viewed me as I’m being discriminated against. It’s been pretty amazing but possibly, maybe, there’s something there.”
