Michigan Gov. Whitmer to Attend Governors Meeting at White House With Biden

Less than a week after the troubling debate, and with calls growing louder for President Joe Biden not to run, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer planned to attend a meet with other governors and at the White House.

Whitmer will attend the meeting in person, her Director of Communications Bobby Leddy wrote in an email, according to the Detroit Free Press. He did not say what Whitmer's message might be to Biden.

Whitmer has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Biden, along with other governors including Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Andy Beshear of Kentucky. Vice President Kamala Harris has also been mentioned, particulary by people like U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn
