We knew Detroit is the Coney Island capital, but Bloomberg news actually tried tallying up the number of coneys in the city: About 150.
Chris Christoff of Bloomberg reports:
Today, with two-thirds fewer residents, Detroit is home to about 150 Coney Islands, according to phone directories. That’s roughly equal to the sum of all fast-food places in the city, including outlets of McDonald’s Corp. (MCD), Burger King Worldwide Inc. (BKW), Wendy’s Co. (WEN) and Yum! Brands Inc.’s (YUM) KFC, the Michigan Restaurant Association says.
