Comic Dave Chappelle brings his wit and humor to Detroit on July 11 for a fundraiser for actor, businessman and community activist Hill Harper, who is running in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.
The concert is at Saint Andrew's Hall at 431 E Congress St. in downtown Detroit.
The campaign writes:
We are thrilled to extend an exclusive invitation to you for an unforgettable evening with comedy icon Dave Chappelle! Join us for a live show in Detroit on Thursday July 11th. Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the show starts at 7:30 PM.
Tickets range from $250 for a balcony seat to $3,300 for a gold circle and VIP reception.
The performance is billed as a "strict NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED show. Please leave your phones in your cars or at home. Anyone who brings a cell phone will be required to place it in a locked pouch."

Harper is running against U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who is being backed by the Democratic establishment. Slotkin is favored in the race. The winner is expected to square off against former Republican Congressman Mike Rogers.
